SMS Terms
Last updated: September 3, 2026
These terms describe text messaging connected to a quote request made through LegitRate.
LegitRate.com does not send text messages and does not collect your phone number. There is no form on this website. If you receive texts after using LegitRate, they come from the company operating the quote form you submitted, or from an insurance company or agent that received your request — based on the consent you gave on that form.
1. How consent is given
When you click a button on legitrate.com you are taken to a quote form operated by a third party. That form contains its own consent language. By submitting it, you typically provide prior express written consent under the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) to receive calls and text messages — including messages sent using an automatic telephone dialing system or an artificial or prerecorded voice — at the number you provide, from that company and from insurance companies, agents and marketing partners it works with.
Read that consent language before you submit. Consent is not a condition of purchasing any goods or services.
Because we do not operate the messaging programme, the message frequency, the number or short code messages come from, and the specific senders are set out in the disclosures on that form and in the first message you receive — not here. We do not set them and cannot state them on your behalf.
2. Message and data rates
Message and data rates may apply. Standard rates from your mobile carrier apply to every message sent or received. Check your plan.
3. How to stop messages
- Reply STOP to any message to end messages from that sender. You should receive a single confirmation. Replying QUIT, END, CANCEL or UNSUBSCRIBE generally works the same way.
- Reply HELP to any message for support information from that sender.
- Use our unsubscribe page and we will forward your request to our partner.
Opting out with one sender does not opt you out of others. Each insurance company or agent that received your information must be asked separately. We cannot stop messages from a company we have no relationship with — ask that company directly.
4. Carriers
Messages are delivered over your mobile carrier's network. Wireless carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Carriers are not parties to these terms, and support for any particular carrier is determined by the company sending the messages.
5. Your mobile number
You may only provide a number you are authorised to use. If your number changes or is reassigned, notify the sender promptly — continuing to receive messages at a number you no longer control can cause messages to reach someone who never consented.
6. Eligibility
You must be 18 or older to consent to receive messages.
7. Privacy
See our Privacy Policy. Information submitted on a third-party quote form is governed by that company’s privacy policy.
8. Changes
We may update these SMS terms. The date at the top will change.
9. Contact
[email protected] — we reply within one business day.

If LegitRate begins sending its own text messages, this page will be updated first to state the programme name, message frequency, the number messages come from, and how to opt out.
