These terms govern your use of legitrate.com. By using the site you accept them. If you do not accept them, do not use the site.

1. What LegitRate is

We operate an advertising and referral website. We display information about insurance products and connect you with third parties who may be able to sell you a policy. Those third parties are solely responsible for their products, quotes, underwriting decisions, pricing, servicing and claims. We are not your agent, broker or adviser, and we owe you no fiduciary duty.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter a contract. Insurance products are available only in states where the relevant company is licensed.

3. No quotes, no guarantees

Nothing on this site is an offer of insurance, a quote, or a binding rate. Figures shown on the homepage — including the rate card and the savings comparison — are illustrations, and are labelled as such. Actual premiums depend on the insurer’s underwriting and on factors including your location, coverage limits, deductibles, driving record, claims history, vehicle, property characteristics and, where permitted by law, credit-based insurance score. We do not guarantee that you will be approved, that you will save money, or that any particular rate is available to you.

4. How we are paid

We are compensated by the companies whose offers appear here, generally when you click through and submit a quote request. That compensation may influence which products appear, how prominently, and in what order. We do not charge you a fee. See our Disclaimer for the full advertising disclosure.

5. Permitted use

You may use this site to research insurance and to request quotes for yourself. You may not:

• Use the site for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these terms;
• Submit another person’s information without their authorisation;
• Scrape, crawl, harvest, frame or mirror the site or its content, except for search engine indexing consistent with our robots.txt;
• Attempt to interfere with, probe or overload the site or its infrastructure;
• Reverse engineer, decompile or attempt to derive source code beyond what is served to your browser;
• Use automated means to generate clicks, form submissions or referral events.

6. Intellectual property

The LegitRate name, logo, page design, text and code are owned by Legit Rate and protected by copyright and trademark law. You may view and print pages for your own personal, non-commercial use. All other rights are reserved.

Insurance company names and logos shown on this site are the trademarks of their respective owners. They are used to identify those companies. Their appearance does not imply endorsement, sponsorship, partnership or affiliation, and we are not affiliated with any of them.

7. Third-party sites and content

This site links to websites we do not control, including the quote forms at auto.legitrate.com and home.legitrate.com. We are not responsible for their content, accuracy, availability, privacy practices or terms. Following a link is at your own risk, and your dealings with any third party are solely between you and them.

8. Disclaimer of warranties

THE SITE AND ALL CONTENT ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not warrant that the site will be uninterrupted, error-free or secure, or that any information on it is accurate, complete or current.

9. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, Legit Rate AND ITS OFFICERS, MEMBERS, EMPLOYEES AND AGENTS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, LOST DATA, OR THE ACTS OR OMISSIONS OF ANY THIRD PARTY, ARISING FROM OR RELATING TO YOUR USE OF THIS SITE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM WILL NOT EXCEED ONE HUNDRED US DOLLARS ($100). Some jurisdictions do not allow these limitations, so they may not apply to you.

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Legit Rate from any claim, loss, liability or expense, including reasonable legal fees, arising out of your use of the site, your violation of these terms, or your violation of any law or third-party right.

Our Privacy Policy is incorporated into these terms. Information you enter on a third-party quote form is governed by that company’s policy, not ours.

12. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. You and we consent to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in the State of California.

Nothing in this section limits any right you have under the consumer-protection law of your own state, or the authority of any regulator, where that law or authority cannot be waived by agreement.

13. Changes and termination

We may change these terms at any time by posting a revised version. Continued use after posting means you accept the change. We may suspend or discontinue the site, or restrict your access, at any time and without notice.

14. General

If any provision is held unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it. These terms, together with the Privacy Policy, SMS Terms and Disclaimer, are the entire agreement between you and us regarding this site.
